ABOUT KATHLEEN + SISTAS

Kathleen, owner or Sistas Consignment, sitting on a blue couch with yellow pillows.

Hi, Iā€™m Kathleen.

The store's name, Sistas Consignment, is rooted in a beautiful sentiment: Every woman who graces our threshold is not just a customer but a cherished sister.

Growing up in Lynn, alongside previous generations, instilled in me a deep love for community. While my professional background lies in business, I reached a point where the corporate world's treatment left me disillusioned. My experiences with Cricket and Oracle shaped my understanding of business dynamics but also fueled my desire for something more fulfilling.

Driven by a passion for creativity and a longing to break free from corporate constraints, I embarked on a journey to start my own venture in the realm of fashion. For me, fashion isn't just about trends; it's about comfort and quality. I firmly believe that what we wear should not only look good but also feel good.

My previous experience operating a consignment shop in Denver, Colorado, opened my eyes to the beauty of sustainability in fashion. Consignment allows us to keep clothes out of landfills while giving them a chance for a new life. Any unsold items aren't discarded but instead donated to various local organizations. Additionally, we extend our reach to communities in Africa, providing clothing to schools, prisons, and shelters.

It's been an incredible journey since I ventured into the world of entrepreneurship. Sistas Consignment has celebrated two birthdays, and I'm continually inspired by the connections made, the stories shared, and the impact we've been able to create, both locally and globally.
